First, that ice and snowstorm is taking aim at a large portion of the country, expected to

0:10.7

sweep across 2,000 miles from New Mexico to the northeast. Some governors are already declaring

0:15.6

states of emergency. Juniors here, this is a big one. As little as a quarter inch of ice

0:19.8

on a power line can add

0:20.9

500 pounds to that power line. And there are a huge swath of the country that's going to get a

0:26.3

quarter inch of ice or more up to an inch in some places. So the ice is the scariest part,

0:31.4

truly, but we have snow as well. We've got so much that we've got watches already in place

0:35.9

from New Mexico down to Houston all the way through Little Rock Lexington Pittsburgh and we will eventually

0:41.2

get them here in New York because we will see it move to the Mid-Atlantic and

0:44.2

Northeast let me go ahead and show you what's happening a lot of Pacific and Gulf

0:47.4

moisture meeting up with that serious Arctic there that's coming far south so ice

0:51.5

in the middle right Dallas over north of Little Rock over to Nashville,

0:55.3

Raleigh, Virginia Beach, even into Delaware, is going to ride along and depend very heavily

1:00.1

on where that low pressure system sets up. So that's why you're seeing changes in the forecast

1:04.2

because as we get closer, it's going to be a very, very narrow line that ends up with the worst

1:09.2

of that icing. Now it all starts, we can tell

1:11.3

you, Friday night through Saturday morning. Dallas, across I-20, or I-40, not good, over to Little

1:16.8

Rock, Nashville, again, Louisville and Cincinnati are on the snowy side of this, but look where that

1:21.9

nose of warmth comes in. That could still leave Atlanta with some freezing, but it would be on

1:26.8

the later half of this Saturday night through Sunday. Then what we did, and you've heard a lot about, okay, there are two computer models. Everybody in New York's asking me, what are we going to get on Sunday? You're going to get snow. I can tell you that. But how much is going to be highly dependent on where this rain snowline? This is the American model. It's a little further south in New York.

1:44.8

By 10 p.m. on Sunday, if we get that rain snow line, that cuts the totals big time, we will keep you updated. And most importantly, anybody who gets the ice, like Dallas, stays freezing 60 plus hours. We'll get into that, Michael. All right, it's a good weekend to stay in and stay home, Ginger. Thank you so much for that. We're going to go go now to president trump meeting with world leaders about his drive to take over greenland senior
