But it only took them 30 years. Yes, 30 years scientists

discovered red dye number three's links to cancer in animals. And now it's finally being removed

from our food. If you don't know what it is, red dye number three is a color additive.

It's made from petroleum and the chemical

erythracine. It sounds super yummy. In 2022, a petition was submitted by several organizations and

individuals, which cited the link between red dye number three and cancer. Some companies have

already stopped using red dye.
