Surprised I'm not dead after last night. That was embarrassing.

That's pathetic. I think what angers me, Tick, is that when I sit there at games, nothing will surprise me. Nothing should shock you. It's baseball. It's basketball. It's football. Right? I've seen it all. We've all seen it all. But when I sat there last night after a one and a half hour rain delay, making my poor wife sit there, and the Mets had a 6-0-0 lead, and the place is rocking, and David Peterson got through the third inning, and now it's the fourth inning, and we're talking about God knows what. I'm like not even focused on the game. I'm talking to my wife about life, because I'm chilled, because I'm relaxed. You're feeling good about yourself. Why wouldn't I? Six nothing. David Peterson is going to give you seven. Maybe go eight tonight. Maybe. And even if he doesn't, I don't win this game. And when David Peterson took a giant number two all over the mound, specifically when he walked a guy named Not Joe Alvarez and Nick Allen, who's a Met Killer, back to back with a huge lead.

That's when the fear started to get into my stomach.

And what happened last night at City Field is why today, August 14th, 2025, this is the first time I can sit here, honestly look into your eyes and say, bro, I don't think they're making the playoffs.

And I haven't felt that way all year, but wow.

But I think what has happened is that it's gone the other way.

It's this melee that is taking over this Met rotation is just slowly infecting everything about the Mets pitching staff, everything, including the bullpen.
