In news today, Boeing lost one in court.

A federal judge has rejected Boeing's plea deal

in the case stemming from fatal crashes of 2-737 max planes in 2018 and 2019.

Boeing was accused of fraud and had reached a tentative settlement with the Federal Justice Department to close the case,

but a Texas judge described as a conservative favorite was not buying this.

According to the Seattle Times, today Judge Reed O'Connor called it off.

The deal would have required Boeing to pay fines and let an independent monitor oversee safety improvements.

But O'Connor had concerns that the company planned to consider race in who to hire as the monitor.
