I'm Ruby Deluna with a roundup of today's

top stories. It's Thursday, February 19th. Nurses and immigrant rights advocates are launching a

campaign in Tacoma on Friday to ask St. Joseph Medical Center to kick ICE out of the hospital.

They say when ICE detainees are hospitalized, agents guarding them have refused to leave the room during medical interviews and catheter changes. One guard shackled a patient so tightly

it caused nerve damage, and the agents have ignored requests to wear masks and gowns when needed for infection control.

Jared Richardson is with the Washington State Nurses Association, one of the organizations leading the ICE Out of Hospitals campaign.

We believe that detainees can be brought in and cared for with dignity and given great care without their presence there.

Virginia Mason-F Franciscan Health owns St. Joseph Medical Center.

A spokesperson declined to answer KUOWS specific questions,

but said in a statement that its mission is to provide high-quality, compassionate care to every person who comes through their

doors. Washington Senator Patty Murray is joining a growing list of Democrats who will not

attend President Trump's State of the Union address. Senator Murray posted on social media that

she won't be going to, quote, listen to him ramble and lie.

Representative Pramela Gaiapal also released a statement saying she wouldn't be in attendance.

The State of the Union address is scheduled for next Tuesday.
