It's Thursday, August 8, 2024. I'm Albert Moeller and this is the briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview.

0:13.7

Oh, by the way, Joe Biden is still president of the United States.

0:17.7

It is interesting, and it's a phenomenon of our political experience that given the events of the last several weeks,

0:24.0

Joe Biden has basically fallen off the headlines, and by that I mean he has

0:28.0

literally fallen off the headlines. You look at several editions of the

0:32.4

1:09.8

More or less not of his own volition. He was pushed out by his own party and

1:15.4

undecorously so he was also in a position in which he was basically being

1:20.9

dismissed because he was no longer believed to be capable of running a campaign.

1:26.1

But if you can't run a campaign, you certainly can't run the White House.

1:29.9

But we also now know President Biden hadn't been running many things for quite a long time.

1:35.8

Pretty much encapsulating the situation with President Biden.

1:39.2

Kimberly Strassal, columnist for the Wall Street Journal wrote an article entitled

1:43.3

Biden forgotten but not gone. You see what she did there. The reality is that he
