| 0:22.1 | That war in northern Italy so often fought up in the mountains. We're joined by Tom Isit, an author, historian, photographer |

| 1:51.3 | We're staying on the sidelines. And basically, the Italians were just holding out to see who |
| 1:56.6 | offered them the best deal to come in on their side. So the Allies came up with the best offer and in May of |
| 2:06.1 | 1915 Italy joined forces with the Allies and declared war on Austria-Hungary. Austria-Hungary |
| 2:13.8 | were outraged by what they claimed was a betrayal, but they weren't very surprised. |
| 2:20.7 | Everyone knew that Conrad von Hotsendorf couldn't wait to get to the Italians. |
