A new study from astronomer David Kipping published this summer in the journal

Universe argues that the odds we live in a simulation are just about 50-50.

As you can imagine, this has caused a bit of a stir.

Scientific American broke down Kipping's argument, as well as some responses to it and

some of the previous work he was building off of, and a lot of it, you know, frankly, goes a bit
