news today. Kicking off with some very good news, the World Health Organization has approved the first ever malaria vaccine.

The mosquito-borne virus kills roughly half a million people worldwide every year, more than half of whom are children,

and killed hundreds of millions of people in the 20th century. So having a vaccine is a huge step towards saving countless lives.

Quoting New York Magazine's intelligentser, the muskirics shot, which has been in the works for over

30 years, creates antibodies to combat plasmodium falciparum, the most dangerous of the five

malaria pathogens, and the most commonly found strain in sub-Saharan Africa. It's also the first
