Chapter 1

Throw Rocks at the Devil

I have been telling this story to my kids all their lives

and they asked me to write it down

so here it is

I grew up on an Indian reservation,

and I always had unexplained things happened to me. I guess I have a lot of stories because

I can feel spirits. When my brothers and I were young, we had a lot of babysitters. This one

particular babysitter hated girls. I remember going to her trailer house

in the middle of nowhere with no neighbors around. She disliked me but loved my brothers.

I recall being little, maybe six or younger, and I accidentally pulled my short string, which

hiked my shorts up. The babysitter yelled and screamed

and made me go into the bathroom and stay there until I fixed my shorts until they were appropriate

enough for her. I often found myself outside playing in the backyard. I remember one day my brother and I were playing during the daytime
