Chapter 1. Now when I say the Book of James, there's some of you that will wince because you know what's coming. You know James is a man who pulls no punches. You know that James, when he speaks, there's weight behind his words and he has no

uh illusion or no fancy in going after mere platitudes but he wants to get the

information from our heads into our hearts and

finally down to our feet so that he and we could live out this Christian life.

And so this evening we're going to be going and seeing what James has to say to us

about going through the fire of affliction, adversity, and trial.

So if you're in James Chapter 1,

go ahead and stand with me.

We're gonna be making it all the way through

three whole verses tonight,

which I know you guys will feel right at home,

you'll feel like we're going

lightning speed compared to Pastor Jack on Wednesdays. So three whole verses, I'm

going to have you guys read with me. I'm going to read verse two. I'll have you

guys pick it up in three and then we'll end in verse four of chapter one.

James says my brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials. But let patients have its perfect work that you may be perfect work that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing.

Let's pray.

Father, God, I am so thankful that you told us beforehand that troubles would come. God, I'm thankful that you didn't tell us or not tell us that not every trip would be smooth sailing.

That not every season of life would be a bed of roses and flowers, that there would be

tumultuous times, seasons of great difficulty.

And tonight in this room and those watching online, there's no doubt in my mind that there are those

who are suffering, unspeakable and unimaginable things, whether it be
