Summary

After generations of rebellion, God is asking the children of Israel to repent from their sins and turn back to Him in Zechariah 1:1-17. As we study Zechariah’s first vision for these people, we see what a rider in the myrtle trees means in light of their captivity, prophecy, and God’s love and mercy for His people.

As we approach this new book, it really follows suit that it would follow Haggai.

It's kind of amazing, 38 verses.

Haggai was a short-winded but powerful

prophet. And Zachari is kind of the opposite. He's powerful, but he's very long-winded.

your more engineering kind of mind, whereas Zachariah is more

the mystical, mysterious, and he's got all these dreams and what have you. And it's very apocalyptic

Zachariah's prophecy is. It's got a lot of darkness like Haggai. We showed that last time

just the heavy nature of the prophecy.

But some of the background of Zachariah, before we dive into this book,

the first thing is his name, Zachariah.
