Years ago, I had two appointments that were made on the same week.

One was with a guy who called our office.

This is back when Athe was smaller and it was easier to meet up with people.

But one guy was just learning the guitar and wanted to sit down with me and learn a few chords and

you know some of the songs we did at church and stuff I was like sure so he called the office

we set up that meeting and then another guy called and said he wanted to play guitar and just

jam a little bit so two meetings two two guitar times with people well the first meeting came

along and uh the guy I sat down with,

and then he had his guitar. And so I said, so what chords would you like to learn? Like,

what would you like me to teach you? And the guy looked a little confused. And he said, well,

I wasn't really coming to learn chords. See, I'd mixed up my meetings.

The first guy I wanted to learn some chords. The other guy was the best guitar play I've ever met

in my lifetime. So you have to understand how embarrassed I was when I realized I say, so what

chords did you like me teach? So all of a sudden he's like, uh, never mind-blib-d-l-l-d-l-l-d-l-d-l-l-l-l. I'm like, never mind.

I don't think there's anything I can teach you, you know.

It was really embarrassing.

I got them confused.

You know, I wonder if someday, when we sit before God and you'll realize you don't know anything and you are not as good

as you thought you were. I think that's really the objective to the book of Romans, especially the

first several chapters. In chapter one we saw last week that even the most ardent atheist is without

excuse. You know, they deny God and they're so haughty and prideful.

They refuse to acknowledge God.
