Romans chapter one.

While we got into our study, we've actually spent three Sundays so far, not including Mother's Day, in Romans chapter one,

but particularly kind of centered on just a couple of verses, 16 and 17, which we'll look at again tonight. But on our first Wednesday night

in Romans, we covered verses 1 through 7. And we called that point number one of the chapter.

Paul's going to present to the Roman church his credentials. Paul's credentials. And that's verses 1 through 7. Remember we talked about how he's

humble, that he had a servant attitude, doulas, that he was separated from the world and he was given

to the preaching of the gospel. And that was his credential list that we looked at. But the book of Romans,

if we really approach it carefully, we need to understand it really is the book of doctrine that's so

rich and so powerful for the Church of Jesus Christ. It's important that you read it because it

finds out, you find out what christianity is all about

romans really sums it up doctrinally that is the teaching of the christian faith

a lot of the wacko stuff you hear out there that call themselves churches or people on the street

that sort of say they're christians but they're not they really probably haven't done a very

careful reading

of the book of Romans. So, you know, it's an important book. In fact, when surveying pastors,

if you can only teach one book of the Bible, 75% of them said the book of Romans, because it really

is the book of doctrine of Christianity.

I think it was Barnhouse who said, if you drop your Bible, it should automatically fall

open to Romans from its constant use. And I like that. It's true. Romans is super important.

So number one, Paul presents his credentials. We saw that verses 1 through 7. Tonight we

begin in verse 8, where Paul expresses his concern. And it's going to be his concern for others.
