The Book of Romans, why don't you grab your Bibles and let's get to it?

Romans chapter 1.

We began our study last weekend and we're kind of, this is our first Wednesday night.

And man, the Book of Romans, excited to be here.

We've been in the Gospels, you know, where we saw the story of Jesus and then the

book of Acts that is kind of the continuation of the Gospels. You know, Dr. Luke, it's almost like

Luke, the Gospel of Luke is, you know, Luke 1, first Luke, and then the book of Acts was second

Luke, because Luke wrote that and continued the story in kind of a powerful way.

But we really do shift gears in the book of Romans because it's not as much a narrative of the

stories as it is just theology and instruction. It's a powerful, powerful book. Romans takes the practices that we saw in the early

church of the book of Acts, and then it starts to move into more of the parameters and the definitions

of what Christianity is all about and what we are to believe. And the examples are really thorough. You know,

Romans is going to talk about everything from communion to baptism to all the, you know,

doctrinal declarations of redemption and salvation for, you know, like propitiation, like all the big shun words, you know, the study

theology words that are going to be powerful, justification, we could go on, it's going to be really

key to know the doctrines of the Bible.

One of the things you'll note in the book of Romans is the absence of things churches do that aren't in the Bible. One of the things you'll note in the book of Romans is the absence of things churches

do that aren't in the Bible. And some people think, you know, Brett, why are you so hostile to,

you know, churches that do. I'm not hostile to churches. I do, I do really think it's important to do

what's biblical. I'm just a Bible guy. I love the Bible. We have a lifetime

of things to do in the Bible. Wouldn't you agree? Like when you read the Bible, all you need is really

what the Bible says. It's not incomplete. It's not lacking. So when somebody adds to the Bible,
