John chapter six.

Do you guys remember the 1980s army recruiting commercial where, you know, early morning,

they get on a plane and they load up a big, I don't know what it is, a big cargo plane.

And man, they push a bunch of tanks and stuff out and it falls with these huge

parachutes and then the soldiers all run out and jump out and land and drive to this operation

and then it shows them drinking coffee and the sun's just coming up and their slogan was we do

more before 9 a.m. than most people do all day. Those were the good old days, by the way. Now they're learning

pronouns before 9 a.m., but the good old days when they used to, well, anyway, have you ever

had one of those days that are super busy? But you feel accomplished. Like, man, you got a lot done

in a one day period. And you're kind of like, ah, that feels good. Like you really did do

something. Jesus is going to knock it out of the park in John chapter 6. In one day, or I should

say in a 24 hour period, Jesus is going to feed 5,000 people. He's going to take time to pray

to the Father and time away. He's going to actually take time away, but he's also

going to walk on water, calm a storm, teach in the synagogue, the bread of life discourse. Then the

multitude are going to come to crown him the king and make him king. But then the same multitude is

going to reject him and run for their lives from Jesus. And that's all in today's work for Jesus.

That's a lot. And that's why this chapter is so long. John chapter six has 71 verses and it's

rich and powerful and huge and important. So let's take a look this evening at John chapter six,

starting in verse 1.
