Summary

As we continue looking at the hallmarks of church unity in Ephesians 4:11-32, we take a deep dive into the evidence of good growth and the pitfalls that will lead to serious problems. As we study, we examine the behaviors that reveal whether we are growing toward Christlikeness and identify the attitudes that damage unity and grieve the Lord.

0:10.1	support and the pastor said, what group are you associated with? He says, I belong to the invisible church.
0:16.3	And the pastor being a little suspicious said, what church? The invisible church. And the pastor being a little suspicious and said, what, what church? The invisible church.
0:23.2	And the pastor was a little, like, skeptical at this point, kept digging, got a little bit,
0:28.4	a little more prickly with the guy.
0:29.8	And finally, the man said, you know, your church isn't really the true church at all.

0:38.3	to your invisible church. You know, it's interesting because people like to say, I'm part of
0:44.4	this church or that church, but what makes a real church versus a fake church? I think that's a
0:50.6	worthwhile question. And really, if you break it down to most simple terms, first of all,
0:55.8	you have to look at its doctrine, its teaching, and make sure that it is squared away on the
1:00.6	essential doctrines of the Christian faith. And that's what we call it, the essentials. It's not that
1:06.5	other doctrines aren't important. It's just if you're going to be called a Christian church,
1:11.2	you have to have the essential doctrines. For example, Jesus is God in the flesh. That is an
1:16.8	essential, if you don't believe Jesus is God, you believe in a very different Jesus than the Church
1:21.6	of Jesus Christ believes. We believe the Church of Jesus Christ believes that Jesus is God in the flesh.
1:27.7	Now, if you believe in a post-trib rapture, is that an essential doctrine of the church?
1:32.2	No. What about pre-trib? Nope, not essential. Are those essential topics to study and learn about?
1:38.4	Yes, but they're not, they shouldn't divide whether they're true or false church.
