2nd Corinthians chapter 5 as you know there's there were no chapter breaks in the original letter

that Paul wrote and sometimes I think we give chapter breaks too much you know maybe too much

space when we're really supposed to carry on the discussion. It was something Paul was writing about,

and you almost lose, because that was last Wednesday.

That was a week ago we were studying chapter four.

So let's back up because this discussion,

he's continuing the same theme from chapter four.

And what we went over last week was basically, you know,

First Corinthians, the letter,

was really largely rejected by the Corinthian people.

And there, you know, Paul was accused of being a liar,

being unreliable, fraudulent even, not even being a true apostle.

That was the attitude the Corinthians had about Paul after the first letter to the

Corinthians. So in Second Corinthians, of course, Paul is defending his ministry, his

apostleship, his calling, even the suffering. He's defending his suffering that he went

through. Paul went through tough times, but he always stayed the course, even in the middle of

tough times. Remember on last week we saw there in verse 8, he said, we're troubled on every side,

yet not distressed. We are perplexed,

but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed. There's always a

but not with Paul. He always knows that it's all going to work together for good. And he said,

and look at verse 17,

for our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
