I have to say I've always, and probably always will, I've always loved being a pastor.

There's never been a day where I've thought, you know, I should quit.

I've never thought that. I'm just going to say, I've never thought that.

And it's because I think maybe the Lord just knew that I needed the kind of role that I get to have right now,

because I feel like I got the best of

all situations. You know, I have pastor friends that talk about how hard it is and how their churches

are, you know, the people are a real bummer and, you know, stuff like that. And I'll admit,

being a pastor, it is hard work. I'll admit that. But I've always liked hard work. I'm not afraid of hard work. And it is funny to me what people think I do with my time, because usually most people don't have any idea. They think, well, Brett, you sit and pray all week and open your Bible and study and get ready. And then you get to teach the word. I do that part for free. All that part

I do for free. But being on staff at a church this size and what have you, my role is very different

than that. And this is my favorite part. I love teaching the word. But I also think that, you know,

it's interesting, maybe the burnout rate of pastors.

It really does come because I think a lot of guys maybe didn't understand what they were signing up for, maybe.

Maybe part of the problem is they're really not called.

I think if you're called to anything, you'll probably love doing that thing.

If the Lord has given you a direct calling on your life, I think you'll probably love doing that thing. If the Lord has given you a direct calling on your

life, I think you'll probably find it enjoyable or fun. Even though Paul would be beaten up and

thrown in prison, I kind of get a sense that Paul looked at it as sort of a game. Like, man,

I want to win this, I want to win this game. I want to run the race.

I want to fight the good fight. Sure, you get punched around once in a while, but Paul, it's

almost like he lived for this stuff. And I can kind of relate to that. I love that about Paul.
