Today's episode will be a weekend roundup, the EFL weekend that was and the fallout from it in managerial terms. Quite a few sackings have taken place over the last 24, 48 hours.

George, why don't we start in the championship, traditional?

No need to veer from that.

Let's start with Huddersfield won Cardiff, Nell.

Because, well, quick one on the match, managerless Huddersfield, if you like, it was an

important win for them, nicely taken Jordan Rhodes goal, a penalty save from Nichols, who was so good

for them last season, Callum Robinson missing that, and saw it out fairly comfortably, Cardiff

mustering next to nothing really in the second half, just two attempts. And then the main news,

really, off the back of it is just like

Huddersfield the week before. Cardiff City or Vincent Tan, more specifically, sacked his

manager, Steve Morrison gone, George, seems to have caused shockwaves throughout the championship.

What are your thoughts? Definitely surprising. Again, it kind of plays into what I was saying last week

about Danny Schofield and Huddersfield where you've appointed a rookie manager, right? So you've

gone out and you've recruited someone who has never done this job before. And that comes with

risks that are kind of built into making a decision like that, you would think.

And you'd also assume that it's a decision made kind of long term.

The fact that he was manager for the second half of last season and then was basically

retained at the end of the season to manage this season suggests that there weren't any

issues in terms of the job he was doing then.

The recruitment seemed to be very much driven, not necessarily just by him, but he seemed to

have a bigger say in recruitment in a massive summer of overhaul than a lot of championship

...
