1:02.8	I'd like to have you turned to Luke chapter 9.
1:07.7	Thinking about a new year before us,
1:14.0	I want you to look at the verses I have been thinking about for about three and a half weeks. We take these verses out of the core of Luke 9. As I read these verses for us, let's see if you
1:24.0	can locate the three musts that appear. I'll begin the reading at verse 22,
1:30.1	and we'll go down to the end of verse 25. Luke 9, verse 22, Jesus is speaking,
1:39.6	the son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes
1:50.4	and be killed and be raised up on the third day.
1:58.0	And he was saying to them all, if anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
2:13.6	For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it but whoever loses his life for
2:22.7	my sake he's the one who will save it for what is a man profited if he gains
2:30.2	the whole world and loses or forfeits himself.
