So today I want to talk a bit about the concept of symmetry and asymmetry in strategy games.

This has been really reinforced in my mind with playing a lot more of DemiGod,

which is kind of the king of asymmetrical RTSs, I think, right now.

And also, to my horror, Command and Conquer 3, Red Alert 3, Uprising,

which is you can pretty much expect how great that is. You're actually playing that? I am playing that, yes. Good Lord, why? Why are you playing that? Because it's an assignment. Oh, I'm so sorry, Troy. Yeah. Are you holding this out as an example of symmetry or asymmetry? It's a sub-en alert game. Red Alert 3 is, I would say, very asymmetrical. And that's kind of the big

thing it has. The only thing it has going for it, that everything is different. So different.

Should we put out a definition here? Because I was talking about this with some non-gamer

friends, and I realized that I had to come up with some pretty concrete examples of what we

meant by symmetrical strategy games

and asymmetrical strategy game.
