PC gamers strategic director, Evan Lottie. Yeah, they're good to be with you. Since you are a strategic director now, you know, this is really the place to be.

I never thought about that. So yeah, that's perfect.

Yeah. And we are going to be talking about Slay the Spire 2, which just launched into early access last month.

And much like the first game, I am very bad at it, which is why I have brought two people

who have, I think, hundreds more hours than me in this series on to maybe figure out how to be better at Slaid the Spire 2.

But Evan, as our guest, do you want to describe what this game is to somebody who has

never heard of it before?

Yeah, it's really the sort of championship belt holder for the rogue-like deck builder genre,

which, of course, has only become more popular since the first game released.

And it's sort of a...

The developer is always described it as whimsical.

It's like a whimsical fantasy style game where you're proceeding

across an FTL-style branching map that has kind of different options for you there. Like, you can

have these random events that you encounter. You can have normal fights. You can fight elites.

You can visit rest sites, sort of in the style of like darkest dungeon to heal up your character.

And you're building a deck, of course. And you're playing a single character. And the battles

kind of, I always compare them to Pokemon. I don't know if that's a fair comparison in your guys'

opinion, but like, you know, you're fighting one enemy or maybe up to four enemies at once.

Uh, you have a set of cards in your hand and, you know, there's attack, defend and skill cards

basically, uh, and powers which sort of enhance those cards. And laid over top of this are relics.
