Hello, everybody. And we're here to, I suppose you could call this a winter of wargaming episode.

I think it counts.

But we've talked about many, many Warhammer and Warhammer 40K video games on the show in the last,

heck, what is it, 14 years now.

We've never actually talked about where it all came from,

which is the Warhammer 40K tabletop game.

And that's where we are finding ourselves today.

I wanted to start out with just like kind of a general overview.

And Brian, I think you're particularly good at this kind of thing. But if you were trying to just

explain what Warhammer 40K is in like a minute or less to somebody who had no idea, what are

what are we dealing with here? Okay, in the far, far future,

everything has gone really, really bad, so bad, in fact, that all of humanity now serves under

one super Catholic church that rules all of the human planets. And that Catholic Church is extremely fascist and

extremely violent. The bad news is that's the best case scenario for humans in the universe,

because it turns out that everything that we dream of and hate and fear is actually real

and manifested by humans' own innate mental path.

And so humanity went out of space, and then all of our nightmares turned out to be real.

And then they found out where humanity was.

And so Jesus, who was actually also Muhammad and also Nikolai Tesla and also a lot of other people,

he comes back in the 30th,000th year, and he unites humanity under his military, and he says,
