So, last week, we discussed Total War Troy. And relating to that, Troy and I, the, oh, this is going to suck.

This is going to be confusing.

This is not come up before on the show, but we finally, it's finally going to be an issue.

Your name, Troy.

So Mr. Goodfellow and I were discussing the other week that this might be a good time to finally revisit a movie that I think we both have an unusual degree of fondness for, given how it's generally remembered.

But we are both, fans might be too strong, but we both find things to admire in Wolfgang Peterson's sword and, sword and sandals epic, Troy.

So we were discussing, uh, thematic pairings that might go with Troy.

And we saw, we decided this might finally be the moment to check out the director's cut

of Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven, a film that I think, Troy, you and I have both seen,

but the theatrical cut, which apparently, and now that I've seen it, I agree, is a vastly

different film than the director's cut. And so we'll sort of be looking at two films about major sieges, although whether each

really meets the criteria of being a proper siege, we will have to discuss. And then, Troy, it

sounds like you've also been just drinking deeply of B movies that could plausibly tie into this theme of cities under siege.

Yeah, I mean, this was sparked by our discussion of Troy, just in general, both in the Discord,

and your review and other podcast members, reviews of Troy.

And it's a total war game.

So in total war games, generally, sieges get short shrift.

But here we have Total War Troy, which is a game, which is a story of the most famous siege, fictional siege in history, in a quasi-historical setting.

It's a game about that in a game engine that really isn't about sieges.
