Summary

Fun fact: Did you know that if you search for "Steel Panthers" on Google Images you will find both A) screenshots of the Steel Panthers series and B) photographs of an active glam rock band named Steel Panther? Go ahead, look for yourself. I'll wait. Did you check? Pretty crazy that people are still into that. In any case, our Patreon supporters voted and decided that this month Rob and Troy "It's all about penetration and angles" Goodfellow talk about Steel Panthers the video game. Not the band.

Good evening. You are listening to Three Moves Ahead, and I'm your host, Rob Zackney.

Join me today, we've got Three Moose Head founder, Troy Goodfellow.

0:06.9

Hello, hello.

last games of that mold that would break through and enjoy a wider reception among

0:54.0

PC gamers at large.

0:55.1

Like, I remember in middle school talking to other kids who got that game on a lark and were

1:01.4

really enjoying it.

1:02.2

Like, it was one of the last times where, like, a wargamer's war game was being played

1:06.6

by just about anyone who was into PC gaming at the time.

1:10.2

But that kind of leaves out most of the series history,

1:13.6

where it expanded its focus to cover company and battalion level combat

1:17.9

all the way into the modern era.

1:20.4

So let's talk about the Steel Panthers we remember,

1:26.6

and then let's talk about the Steel Panthers that we've been getting reacquainted with this month.

1:34.1

Yeah, well, the Steel Panthers, I mean, we remember.

1:37.2

I mean, this is a Gary Grigsby game, as you said, and Gary Grigsby's name has become kind of synonymous with
