We are a week late on this episode due to Fraser contracting some kind of plague last week,

literally hours before we were supposed to record.

But it's a show I'm very excited for.

This week we are discussing Company of Heroes 2 are Dan's Assault.

A single player expand alone for Company of Heroes 2, a game that Tom Chick and I

were not particularly kind to when it came out,

which frankly left me cold in its original release state.

This is a chance to both revisit the game and look at this latest expansion.

Fraser, you gave it a very positive write-up over on PC games, and why don't you tell us a little bit about what Ardans' assault is,

and what makes it special? Yeah, so obviously

we're back in the West after the Russian core game. And we're given control of basically the U.S.

forces faction from the previous Expand expand alone, which was Western Front

armies, which was an excellent multiplayer expand alone.

But this faction has been split into multiple companies which are deployed around the Ardennes.

The whole thing is kind of inspired by the Battle of the Bulge.

So they're deployed around the Ardennes region in a sort of strategic meta map.

And it deals with big picture strategy a lot more than any company of Heroes game has done previously.

And so you're really moving these companies around the map,

trying to deal with crises and kind of random missions
