Summary

Rob Zacny gets a well earned week off and lets the old people run the show as Troy welcomes Bruce Geryk and Tom Chick to talk about Illwinter's new game Conquest of Elysium 3. It's a strategy game, it's a roguelike, it's an adventure. Tom talks about how the developers can make the game more engaging, Troy is the only person who thinks it's pretty ugly and Bruce demonstrates that only he has an ear for music. But everyone agrees that they really like Conquest of Elysium 3.

All right, there. NPR. Very NPR. That's not bad. That's pretty good, except Troy didn't, you didn't, Troy didn't leave them out. He left the moot. Yes. Exactly. Because I'm so, so Canadian. Yeah. Canadians, man. I believe we went everything. Tonight we're going to be talking about ill winters, new game.

1:16.0

Speaking of Canada, by the way, ill winter.

Yeah, you can probably identify with that, right, Troy?

1:19.4

It has not been an ill winter.

1:20.2

1:21.2

All right.

1:23.6

It's been more rain than snow.

1:45.2

Well, when I think of ill winters, I mean, these guys, I think they're Swedes, Finns. I forget, but they're up there in your latitude. Norwegians. They're all the same. No, that's a joke. The Ill Winter is from Sweden. Okay, they are Swedes. So if I were to say, hey, Swedes, as a nod to John Carpenter's The Thing, that would actually make sense.

1:47.3

Sorry, I'm a movie nerd.

1:48.9

I'm screwing up the strategy podcast.

Take it away, Troy.

Illwinter is, of course, the developers of Dominions 3, a game of great renown and respect on this podcast, and I believe Bruce literally wrote the book on Dominions
