We're expecting some severe weather in the DC area today.

Not snow this time. This time it's possible tornadoes. So you'll hear way more about that tomorrow than you want to if it gets bad. But Jim, so much to talk about today. And we start with a kind of double barrel, double-fisted good martini when it comes to the war with Iran. First of all, Trump is getting tougher on China.

China's pretty much gotten free passage

through the Straits of Hormuz,

But Trump is looking for kind of a coalition

to keep things moving through the Straits of Hormuz,

so the Iranians can't keep playing ping pong

on this particular issue.

I don't know how interested the Chinese are, but Trump has now said, as you write in the morning jolt today, that he may consider postponing his visit to China, which is part of a visit to the region at the end of the month, if China doesn't agree to become part of this effort. At the same time, we got news over the weekend that even after that

bombing of Karg Island off the coast of Iran, that the Iranians are now allowing everything except

U.S. flagged or Israeli flag tankers through the straits, which seems like it's still potentially

crippling, but a lot of experts have said most of the oil we get through there

doesn't come on tankers flagged by the American flag.
