Hi everybody got sad here on a Sunday I decided to come to my university office thinking

that there'd be tons of mail for me since I haven't been here for a while.

I couldn't find anything so maybe they're not delivering

the mail, but I started going through all my, I have a personal library of books at home and I also have

a library here at my office. So I started going through the books and I thought I would do a quick sad truth on three really important books.

So I'll start with this one.

This is Herb Simon models of my life. Herb Simon is a, he's now deceased. He came to Cornell when I was there in 1993. He was someone who knew my former doctoral supervisor.

He's a Nobel Prize winner, a huge polymath who, you know, did some work in administrative sciences and psychology and artificial intelligence.

He's a guy who developed the concept of bounded rationality and so here's a book now look this is his

autobiography

signed by Herb Simon, the great man.

And incredibly, this book was given to me

as a gift by another graduate student

who when he found out my admiration for herp Simon,

whom I got the chance to meet,

and he actually had written a memo about my work,

which I still have somewhere in my office.

So this is the first great book that I want to talk to you about. The second one is this one right here.
