If you came here looking for fantasy focus, surprise!

You now get that show five days a week plus this one, which is facts versus feelings.

0:09.0

So welcome. I am Liz Loza, and today's fact is that you always have to keep your ear to the ground.

You know me, but you may not know my producer. It's Mr. David Presley. Hi, Dave. Hey, Liz. How's it going? It's good to see you. It's great to see you. When people listen to this next week, though, I will be where you are right now. Well, I think you just invented time travel. It does not look like you are in the Los Angeles office, though. Where are you? That is a great observation. I am neither in Los Angeles nor Bristol. I am in fact in my mom's basement in Chicago. Well, how the mighty have fallen. Oh, man. Why don't you just play that disclaimer right now, please? Okay. Fantasy football is a game of inches, luck, and irrational confidence. Proceed with caution. Trust your gut. And remember, ADP is a suggestion, not a command. Mark draft's a fantasy. Your real draft is war. And just because you heard it on this show, doesn't mean you should do it. If all goes wrong, just say your account was hacked. All right, Liz, I got a question for you. What the heck is a drumbeat player? Simply put, a drumbeat player is just

1:12.9

someone who is starting to catch fire. There are whispers right now, but the crescendo is increasing.

1:19.1

Probably the ADP is also increasing. And so just someone to maybe keep an eye on at the moment.

1:26.5

All right. So the first player on the list that we got here is Trevor Lawrence. People might have been keeping an eye on him for a few years and it hasn't happened yet. So, you know, can Sunshine get it done this year? Are we excited? Is the drum beat real? Well, first credit to Joey Wright, who came on our first episode of Facts versus feelings in June and said that his spiciest hot take was that Lawrence would finish as a top 12 fantasy contributor at the position.

1:50.4

Super spicy. But since then, I am hearing Lawrence become more and more popular in QB sleeper circles.

1:58.1

And I get it. Liam Cohen, now the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville,

2:01.6

obviously with Baker Mayfield last year. He helped Mayfield put together a career effort.

2:06.4

We had Brian Thomas Jr. enter the chat last season. And while Lawrence was the QB 13 in terms

2:13.4

of fantasy points per game, both in 2023 and the first nine games of 2024 before hurting his

2:19.9

shoulder and having to miss the rest of the season. His average depth of target increased massively.

2:28.1

In fact, he was the QB2 in average depth of target last year, and Brian Thomas Jr. was that

2:34.1

difference maker. So now there's the

2:35.7

hope that Brian Thomas Jr. in a full healthy season can help propel or pull Lawrence into better

2:41.7

production, throw in Travis Hunter into that equation. And now it looks like Lawrence is set for quite

2:48.9

the bounce back. I'd love to see it because the hype for Lawrence

2:51.7

coming into the league was real and we've just not seen it yet. Speaking of coming into the league,

2:55.6

we got one of my favorite names, new names in the league, Cam Scataboo on this list next for the

3:01.3

Giants. I love it. He's a big boy. I'm hearing some good things coming out of camp with him

3:05.5

on the receiving side too, but we got Tyrone Tracy at the Giants.
