What's up everybody? Welcome into the next Pat's podcast. I'm Phil Perry. Tons to get to on this week's episode. We have the great Mike Renner in with us this week, friends, to talk to us about some terrific trios.

Yes, we're going to go through the first three rounds of the draft

and look at the Patriots picks at number 31 and number 63 and number 95 overall.

And we're going to try to address what I view as maybe their top three needs when we're talking about a tackle

of the future. We're talking about an edge defender and maybe a little extra juice at wide

receiver. We're going to run through all the different permutations. Okay, what if they go wide out

first? Then do you go tackle or edge next? What if you go tackle first? Are you going edge or

wide out next? And then how do you fill out

that third need with that third pick at number 95 overall? Mike is just such a tremendous guess for us

to do an exercise like this one because of his breadth of knowledge of these prospects already. It runs deep,

friends. So while you and I may be here and, listen,

I wouldn't blame any of us for focusing on, say, the top 60, 65, you're really focused on

those first two rounds and maybe the Patriots getting some starting caliber types of players

there if they don't trade one of those first two

round picks. But then we get into the third round and you start to hear some really interesting

names and hopefully we'll be introducing some new names for those of you at home that you haven't

heard yet, that sound intriguing, that sound like Mike Vrable types, that sound like they could

be filling those needs that the Patriots have sooner rather than later.
