been in a kind of recessionary situation for some years now, ever since they started to impose

sanctions on Russian energy back in 2022.

Of course, they have been doing things with the numbers.

So even as German industry has been contracting, they've been denying that they are in recession.

But they actually are.

And because there's been this recession,

and because they've been spending money on Ukraine,

and they've been spending money on all kinds of other things,
