on Easter, the death of Jesus on the cross and his resurrection from the grave, has massive implications for every single one of our lives in this room.

And that leads me to the passage I want to show you in the Bible today.

So it's actually in the last book of the Bible called Revelation.

This is one of my favorite passages in the Bible for many reasons, but let me set the stage.

So this book of the Bible called Revelation is written by a follower of Jesus named John,

who was one of the first people to go to Jesus' tomb

2,000 years ago and find that it was empty. And after that, he spent his entire life

telling people about who Jesus is and what Jesus had done. And it cost him. He actually wrote

this book of the Bible from an island where he had

been exiled as a prisoner because of his faith in Jesus. And this book is unique because it's

filled with incredible imagery and symbols. The verses we're about to read contain a picture of heaven in the future that's filled

with fascinating imagery that shows why the death and resurrection of Jesus is, in a sense,

the most important event in all of history and why it has power to change your history

forever, which I know is a bold statement,

but just look at it with me. We're just going to go verse by verse, and I'll explain the imagery
