Look, there's a lot going on in the world right now. You know, you made it tell you that.

NPR, listener. Maybe you're looking for a break, something silly, something weird, something

that can transport you somewhere else entirely.

Maybe to a place where iguanas carry the mail. One where ATMs sprout from the ground in

the city park and hedges are trimmed with shaving cream and razors.

Lemon curd, Connecticut is one such place. It is a pristine, filthy rich suburb where

pretty much everyone drives SUVs and owns a huge, perfect house.

Lemon curd is the fictional setting for the adult swim show Three Busy Debras, and it is

sublime and bizarre and frankly a little disturbing. The show follows the day-to-day lives of

three housewives, all of whom are named Debra. They're all a bit deranged. They branch

a lot. They kind of hate each other. They hang out all the time. Look, there have been a lot

of stories about the strange things going on behind white picket fences in suburban America.

But three busy Debras might be the strangest. It is also really silly and really funny.

I got to talk with the cast and creators of the show a couple of years ago. They are

Sandy Honeg, Asdebra, Mietra Johari, Asdebra, and Alissa Stoneha as Debra. The show is in

its second season now. It's just as weird and funny as ever. I really love this show.

I think you should watch it. To kick things off, let's hear a little bit from the very beginning

of Three Busy Debras pilot episode. The three Debras have sat down together for brunch.
