Back for the 2019-2020 season after quite a lot of holidaying, quite a lot of time spent not thinking about EFL football, and now

very much ready and raring to go ahead of the new season, which starts in just over three

weeks time. It's creeping up on us somewhat. I'm Ali Maxwell and George Ehrlich joins me. George,

how are you enjoying your summer so far? Yeah, had a good summer,

enjoying some other sports, enjoying some football in the Women's World Cup, a bit of the

under 21s. I know you were there. I sadly wasn't, and the cricket as well, but you've already

been on your holidays. I've got another week away in Italy to look forward to just before the season starts.

But it feels strange because it's three weeks until it all starts again.

And I know this is always the case, but this summer especially, it really feels like the

crux of the transfer activity hasn't really happened yet.

And if you're trying to look through the teams and how they're going to be setting up for next season, it's basically impossible because

most still need at least three or four bodies in. But that's not unusual. No, it's not. No, no, I don't

think it is. I just feel like it gets focused on a bit more because of the hype around the

whole transfer window and the transfer market and the impatience of fans, I think. And also I'd say, I mean, maybe not for us, EFL fans, but, you know, having a major

tournament, having a World Cup, which would only be finishing around about now and suddenly

you'd start thinking about it again, whereas we've had six weeks or so of looking at

transfers and waiting for action to happen.

No, you are right.

And, you know, the championship particularly is not a huge amount going on transfer-wise.

It's just starting to all happen.
