Summary

This episode of Elk Talk features a wide-ranging conversation about elk hunting logistics, especially navigating complex tag application systems in states like Colorado and Montana. Randy and Corey discuss upcoming changes to preference point systems, how increasing demand and policy shifts will make drawing tags more difficult, and encourage hunters to use points sooner rather than later. They also cover broader issues like access to land, growing hunter pressure, and the importance of conservation organizations in supporting habitat and research. Learn more about your ad choices. All elk? All the time. Only elk? Well, it's us having conversation. So we usually go down some rabbit holes. If you hunt with Cory Jacobson, you will find the landscape is full of rabbit holes. We're just going to make this up as we go. And you look at it like, well, that's a target-rich environment. But if you're trying to single one out, a solo target there is much easier to go into than a big group. We record everything, so there's no BS and no lying, no faking it with us.
