How rare is it to overlap your incarnation with one of your philosophical heroes?

And that's a genuine question, because I don't know.

Mine overlapped. It overlapped with two, in fact.

But today we will be talking about Peter J. Carroll, who at the time of recording,

passed away about five or so days ago.

And this isn't going to be a eulogy or anything like that.

People who knew him better should definitely be the ones to do that.

Although having said that, I waited a good while for people to do that

for Jake Stratton Kent, who I did know and

considered a friend, and no one did outside of Facebook posts or what have you.

So mayhaps, this can be a little prompt for people who knew Peter better than I did to

share their reminiscences, because I think people would like them but I didn't know him

you know we met a few times and corresponded a little bit so it's not much but for me

it was a lot because of who he was to me and what he stood for in the sense of the impact that he had on my life,

which is the only thing I'm talking about in this video. These are my thoughts and considerations

on the passing of Peter J. Carroll, one of the co-originators of Chaos Magic.

And the first two things I want to say, first of all, he did an impressive job when you think

about it of keeping his image off the internet. Over the years, many people have emailed me to say, I've Google

image searched Peter J. Carroll, and is this him? And there's some guy with the same name,

and that's not him. It's quite impressive to have an incarnation that ends in 2026 and to basically be visually

anonymous like you're a pseudonym or something.

But that's almost like a subset of the most important thing I want to see, which is almost
