100 years ago today 100 years ago on the 3rd of March

1924 the jilafa officially came to an end.

Literally 100 years ago, today, the Chilafa was officially abolished after 13 and a half centuries of a continuous

hill-fah from the time of Abbakar a sadeh

radi al-O-Lahuan up until Abd al-Abid II when on the 3rd of March 1924, the Ottoman, sorry, the Turkish Parliament

under the leadership of Attoturk officially abolished the institution of the Chilafa and he sent the royal family,

he sent the Sultan and his family into exile and I have spoken about their story in other lectures in Khaturaz that I have given.

He also abolished the position of the Sheikh-Hul Islam.

The final Sheikh-Hul Islam of the Uma Mustafa Sabri was also sent into exile and he died in Egypt.

Now so much can be said we are now today commemorating 100 years after commemorating in a bitter manner, not a positive manner, the collapse of the

Khelafa. So much can be said, there's so much history, so many anecdotes, and the collapse of the Khelafa led to so many

movements and so much interaction, you know just FYI after the

he-da-F-Y, after the he-da-ha collapsed at least a dozen attempts were made around the world to revive the Kilafa.

Global conferences took place.

The first types of conferences the UMA has ever seen in modernity.

We're talking about 1926, 1928, 1932, 1937. Multiple

conferences taking place around the globe by leaders, politicians, by Ulama trying

to do something to revive the Kilafa.

Conferences took place in Jerusalem in Mecca.
