But he put out that a trusted friend of his said that Dusty Baker was contacted about the Mets job and Dusty turned it down.

Then someone in our lives who wants to remain anonymous said that they spoke to Dusty Baker himself who denied this.

Well, you had a similar situation happening out there yesterday with some Jets news. Did you not?

I did. So yesterday I was speculating on

Brees Hall's contract extension with the New York Jets as he is getting ready to sit here and play

on the franchise tag. And I was telling you yesterday, no coach, no GM, because we were talking

in the case of Joe Shane, especially with the Giants, because his contract is up at the end of

this year as well, wants to be a lame duck player or a coach. They want certainty. They want

guaranteed money. And I was thinking that if the Jets decided to give him a $60 million deal

with $48 million guaranteed, which would be the most guaranteed money up to this point for a running

back in the NFL.

How could you turn that down?

If you were Brise Hall, you wouldn't.

But I would tell Brise Hall, I would wait to see what Bejohn Robinson and Jemir Gibbs

are getting with their extensions.

Remember, they were first round draft picks, so they made a lot more money than Brice Hall did already up to this point in their careers and probably have been a little bit more productive.

But the last couple of years, Brice Hall has been essentially the lead running back for the New York Jets.

He's expected to have a very big role in Frank Reich's offense this year.
