I did not think that we would be able to get here, but we did.

One person said on Twitter that we've been talking about this so long that they started

to think that

there was some Mandela effect thing where we actually did the episode and it exists out

in their consciousness somewhere. Yeah, it's like when somebody has a dream about you and

they're like, you gave me great advice and you're like, well, great, my work here is done and I

didn't even do anything. I don't know. There are so few situations in which I would pursue it as doggedly as we did with this one.

But the reason is because we got to talk with Fangirl Gene.

Can you describe Fangirl Jean and like what our experience with her tends to be?

I mean, I felt while recording this episode, the way I remember

feeling in the best moments I had in college and in academia of just like hearing someone

explain something to you in a way that's both extremely learned and passionate and they're

sharing information with you, but they're also showing you

how to think about something and offering you a way in. And as someone who, you know, as Marvel

movies come out, tends to just feel like, oh my God, there's so many of them. Leave me alone.

Just go on without me. I mean, it's funny to say that these movies aren't accessible,

but I'm at least one person who finds them inaccessible
