We will be back again next week with some more State of the Union, but what we thought we would do for this episode is we pre-taped an interview with one of the great and most colorful characters out there in soccer. Thomas Rangan.

You would know him from his television work.

He has been a coach over the years

in multiple different leagues, international coach, club coach, played back in the NSL.

He is just a legend when it comes to American soccer and the stories that he has and the way that

he thinks about the game.

We wanted to get somebody on with, like I said, a

colorful personality. He's crazy at times, but I think he's a wonderful guest to have on a show like this. So, without further

ado, let's talk to Thomas Rongan. All right as

promised Thomas Rongan joins us here on the State of the Union podcast my my good friend my

former coach I got to say a US soccer legend for everything that he has done on and off the field and if you ever get a chance to sit down for any length of time with Thomas Rongan you will be better for. He is one of the most interesting people out there, one of the most learned when it comes to especially soccer, an American soccer on and off the field, and just a really, really nice nice guy. Thomas when we thought about

doing this show right around the Christmas time right around the holiday period I

wanted somebody like you because you have such a breadth of experience when it comes to soccer. But also when we're at home for the holidays

oftentimes as you know family we love them but they can drive us crazy you want to get out there you

want to do some different things hey I don't know maybe you want to get out there, you want to do some different things. Hey, I don't know, maybe you want to go to a movie.
