0:37.1	presence in our lives. The passage I've chosen for this session is the second chapter of Part 2 of Thomas
0:46.6	Merton's book, Thoughts and Solitude.
0:50.1	By the way, if you'd not yet had the opportunity to read Thomas Mertz and if you're inclined to do so,
0:56.0	thoughts and solitude is a great way to start. It's a very short little meditations intended to be used for daily prayer as Alexio Devina, a spiritual

1:07.8	And the passage from thoughts and Solitude I've chosen for today in this chapter Thomas
1:16.9	Merton says,
1:18.1	My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot
1:29.1	know for certain where it will end, nor do I really know myself. And the fact that I think I'm following
1:36.8	your will does not mean that I'm actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that
1:48.9	desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
1:56.5	And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, I will trust you always, though I may seem
2:07.6	to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear for you are ever with me and you will never leave me to
2:16.9	face my perils alone. To reflect with you on this passage. What I'll be doing here is sharing with you what I see
