We get right to it. We don't pussyfoot around in this show. We get it's content

wall to wall. And we have two authors on the show today who have written very provocative

books that I believe are interrelated.

In the second half of the show, we're going to be welcoming back Stephen Hill, whose new book is called

Expand Social Security Now, how to ensure Americans get the retirement they deserve.

And in the first half of the show, we're going to talk to Thomas Frank,

author of Listen, Liberal, or whatever happened to the party of the people.

And I say they're interrelated because you can't expand Social Security without a truly liberal agenda for the Democratic Party.

Also on the show as always we will check in with Russell Mokieber, the Joe Friday of the Corporate Crime Beat, but I'm very excited to get to our first guest.

Thomas Frank is a political analyst, historian, journalist, and a former columnist for Harper's magazine, his writing focuses on the relationship

between politics and culture in the United States.

Mr. Frank has written several books, including What's the Matter with with Kansas which explored the rise of

populist anti-eliz conservatism in the United States that seemingly caused people to
