Hello, everybody, and welcome back to the YouTuber News podcast. My name is Benedict Townsend. It's wonderful to see you again, or indeed to see you for the first time. And hey, you know, life's too short to be wasting time on, you know, introductions and banter and jokes and stuff. Let's just roll straight into the show. Yes, welcome back, everybody. It's nice to see you again. You've changed so much since we last spoke during the intro before the opening music. You've grown, you've developed, you've sort of found yourself, I think, and that's wonderful to see. Now, I've got a crazy story for you this week, one that I'm really excited to discuss. So let's just roll straight into it, because this story to me is just a bizarre series of question marks. This is about an influencer

and a YouTuber by the name of Kami Saleto. I have to confess, I've not heard of Kami

0:48.9

before, but I've certainly heard of him now. And he made headlines on big news sites because he had a bag with 20,000 pounds worth of personal belongings inside stolen from him in London.

1:03.9

And he says that he is now unable to sleep at night, and he's been crying most days after he's had that stolen.

1:10.6

But he's also said that he doesn't want to go to the police because, quote, I feel like the person who took my stuff clearly needed it more than me, which is the first of many questions I have to ask about this story. So first off, we have to ask, how did you have a bag with 20,000 pounds worth of stuff in it at the age of

1:29.5

22? Well, the bag contained a number of things, but the main thing it contained was a Rolex that

1:35.3

he says his father saved up to buy for him for his 21st birthday. And that Rolex is worth 13,000

1:41.9

pounds. So I like how he did the thing of like,

1:45.8

my dad, you know, he really saved up to buy me this watch, you know,

1:49.4

13 grand.

1:51.0

You know, I'm sure his dad did save up, but like, you know,

1:53.5

let's be honest, your dad must have had a bit of money beforehand.

1:56.5

You don't just put a few pennies away every month

1:58.3

and then just get 13 grand off the back of that.

2:07.3

He says he also lost his wash bag and his beard trimmer, which raised some eyebrows in the comments of his video. He posted a video about this because he doesn't have a beard. He's clean

2:11.4

shaven, but maybe the beard trimmer's really good. And so we add that together. We've got the 13

2:15.7

grand for the watch. We've got the, I don't know, 20 bucks for the washbag stuff.

2:22.0

Still got some money to make up here. Well, of course, the bag itself, let's not forget, cost £850 as a designer bag.

2:29.7

He says, you know, I tend to spend money on that because I know it will be better in the long run.

2:33.8

When you spend money on things that will be beneficial in the future instead of clothes, it makes sense, you know, I tend to spend money on that because I know it will be better in the long run. When you spend money on things that will be beneficial in the future instead of clothes, it makes sense.

2:37.9

You know?

2:38.5

He's like, why would I spend £850 on clothes?
