Today is Joe Rico as we look ahead to the weekend action of Major League Baseball.

It's a holiday weekend, too. So shout out to all of our current and former service members. Again, that's what Memorial Day weekend is all about. So thank you very much, everyone, for your service to our great nation. And, of course, speaking of service to the great nation here, Joe O'Rico from the Great White North, is going to help us get some guys here to stream this weekend, and I'm going to throw some guys out there.

So forgive me, everybody. It's been a good run. Last Friday was not my Friday. So I apologize in advance. I promise to do better this week, Scouts honor. And I'm going to hopefully start here with Grant Holmes, who's got a home matchup this week against the Atlanta, excuse me, against the Washington Nationals. So the Washington Nationals, still a spunky team here where you're going to, you know, James Wood's been pretty good. See, James has been very solid. But, you know, the Braves are playing really good baseball right now. And despite the fact that Grant Holmes is at home, his home road splits are still kind of the same. So if you're on the fence trying to decide like a fourth, fifth starter kind of guy, should I start him? Should I not? I would start Grant Holmes and just hope for that W, hope that he can have one of those better starts, a little bit more consistent there because he has been a guy that's walked too many guys this year. That's what you don't want.

Overall in the season, though, he is three and one. He's got 47 innings under his belt, 38 strikeout. So the strikeout rate's not elite. The walks a little to too much. The ERA is sitting at 380. I feel like this is one where we kind of sneak by against the Nats team. The last start that he had. He went five innings, gave up five hits, struck out five, and he only walked two.

So I think that's a very good sign there for Grant Holmes. So I would the Nats team. The last start that he had, he went five innings, gave up five hits, struck out five, and he

So I think that's a very good sign there for Grant Holmes. So I would be starting him as a fringy starter this week. And he's only rostered in 48% of leagues, ironically, on CBS. So if you're in shadow leagues, he could be a streamer in that sense as well. Joe, what about a guy for you, actually, I see the name right now that you're talking about.

It's a guy that actually was telling everybody to pick up a couple weeks ago he's been pretty good and you want to start him this weekend yeah i mean i was going to go with your guy but this is the importance in the business of getting to the sheet first and joe got granted that's right so i'm taking j t that's right j t gin of the athletics. I don't want to call him the Sacramento athletics. I still want to call them Oakland, but we'll just call them the athletics. He's coming off of a brilliant start. It was a heartbreaker where he lost his no hitter in the ninth inning and then gave up a walkoff home run to Zach Nettow. Tough sledding for him, but two of the last three starts, he's got at least

eight innings. And the other start, he went six innings, and he's racking up the strikeouts, two strikeouts in his most recent outing, and eight two starts to go against the Phillies. He's been really reliable, despite that home ballpark being kind of daunting. It's a 298 ERA. It's a 107 whip.

And for this weekend, he gets to face the Padres.
