| 1:12.9 | we talk about, all the events that happen, all of that is obviously when people are awake and |
| 1:18.1 | during the day and everything like that, right? But there's this whole other half of life, |
| 1:22.2 | which happens at nighttime. And the tutors and people in pre-modern societies before there was electricity, before there |
| 1:29.9 | was all of the kind of control over time that we have now with clocks and alarm clocks and |
| 1:35.0 | lighting and all that kind of stuff. It was a very different world for people. And I'm at this |
| 1:40.2 | period in my life right now, or I'm up in the middle of the night quite a bit. If you |
| 1:44.9 | are a woman of a certain age, you might relate to that. So I'm going to say about that right now, |
| 1:51.0 | but I am up in the middle of the night quite regularly. And it's had me thinking about kind of what |
| 1:57.3 | nighttime was like for people in previous times before there was electricity and the ability |
| 2:03.5 | to, you know, just kind of like doom scroll on your phone or read a book on your phone or watch |
