Perkins I'm the artist on Astonishing X-Men at this moment at this moment but

you just wrapped up an incredible run on Stephen Kings the Sand. Talk a little

about that before we get to the big fun that we're going to talk about.

But it was 31 issues. We wrapped it all up in November, December. It was great. It was nice to have such

a volume of work that's entirely yours. I'm looking forward to the omnibus coming out, which

comes out in September, but you can pre-order it.

And so I'm just really looking forward to it looks like a slipcase double edition kind of thing.

I'm really looking forward to that.

Yeah, did you have a particular mini series or period of issues in that series that you're

either most proud of or you just most enjoy going back to? There was certain moments in the book that I was really

looking to do to illustrating and I really enjoyed those. I mean there's certain other ones

which I thought I wouldn't enjoy but I still

really like them so I don't know if there's any particular arc which stands out

as this was the one. I really think the whole thing is a cohesive

hole. It's an achievement to have that all in one place.

I agree. I actually never read the novel. So I just read it when you and Roberto were doing it and it's fantastic.

Yeah, I mean I first read the novel when I was told that you know we want you to do this. read it in a weekend I was like this is great you know that's a it's really thick it is I remember I looked at it when I was a kid I was like wow that's a big book I'm not going to read that right now I think I read

the langoliers or something else that he did.

Yeah haven't they just released like the unabridged CD versions of it and it's like
