Well, should we talk about things that are bigger and better than toasters?

Well, one thing, for example, we're taping this on a Wednesday afternoon and Congress has just passed a $15 trillion dollar tax plan and to my mind what's so odd and

frustrating about this is that the more they've been talking about tax reform

the less popular it's become.

The public generally hates it.

The Republicans are already fearful that they're going to be run on it or run against it

or run around it in 2018.

There's more or less a widespread consensus amount

among trustworthy economists that it's going to raise the deficit by a trillion dollars.

It's going to screw the shit out of the middle class, it's going to make

some members of the donor class have to pay more vis-à-vis, the lack of exemptions in big states

like New York and New Jersey. So are they just doing this to get a win on the board?

It seems rather short-sighted to me, but I think that one thing we've learned about this

president is that short-sightedness is actually his strategy. He just wants to sort of win one day at a time.

So maybe it's the perfect tax bill, the perfect legislative win for President Donald
