So this week's guest is one of the most fascinating people I have talked to on the

show with all due respect to my previous guests and before we get to him and hear

about the topics that we're going to discuss today,

I wanted to tap into the Hive Newsroom and bringing my editor John Kelly just to talk about

some of the crazy news that happened this week.

John?

It's been a banana's day man.

I'm kind of exhausted.

I'm kind of worked up on like my you know probably ninth cup of coffee we were

trying to to close a really great piece last night by T. A. Frank who was on the

ground traveling around Alabama for these crazy

surprising final 36 hours of the Roy Moore lost and I think none of us

saw coming and in fact Tom was in more headquarters at 10

PM and was you know texting me at the very moment when the New York Times needle went from you know from like 50-50 to

to like 70% Jones and he just said the air fell out of the room and so we're we're just you know we're all figuring out today but it's

been bananas I had a funny moment I was I was at an event and I was on a bus

with a bunch of people coming back and we hadn't had

access to our phone all day and we checked our phone. It was 71% reporting and it seemed

like more was going to win and everyone was like just dejected and like just couldn't believe it and then all of a sudden

driving up the freeway someone in the back yelled, Jones won and the whole bus

just started cheering and then you know we we were all in shock but

but it's definitely it's definitely a surprising but good week.
